Overview
Drupal 10

- Korea Main site · 한국어
- Asia Pacific Main site
- United States Regional site
- China Regional site
- Europe Regional site
We contributed to the development of a global digital platform for OMRON Components, supporting the management and presentation of electronic component information across multiple markets and languages.
The project involved migrating data from a third-party database system into Drupal 10, establishing a multilingual and multi-region architecture, and integrating the website with marketing automation tools. As Technical Lead, we were responsible for the migration strategy, custom development, complex integrations, and deployment on Acquia Cloud.
The project challenge
Drupal 10
- External database Product and business data
- Regional websites Languages and workflows
- Mautic Marketing automation
The existing product and business data was maintained in an external database system and needed to be brought into Drupal without losing its structure, relationships, or accuracy. The platform also needed to support regional websites with different languages, content requirements, and operational workflows.
In addition to the migration, the website required integration with Mautic so that user information could be synchronized between the Drupal platform and marketing automation workflows. These requirements called for a flexible architecture capable of handling multiple data sources and regional variations.
Migration from a third-party database
Third-party database to Drupal 10
- Users
- Taxonomy
- Content
- Media
- Relationships
We developed custom migration scripts to transfer data from the external database into Drupal 10. The migration covered the core data required to operate the platform, including:
- User accounts and related information.
- Taxonomy terms and classifications.
- Website content and structured records.
- Media assets and associated references.
- Relationships between migrated entities and content.
The migration process was planned to provide reliable data mapping, consistent processing, and repeatable execution. We handled the differences between the external database structure and Drupal’s entity-based content model, ensuring that the imported data could be managed effectively within Drupal.
Multilingual and multi-region architecture
Shared content
- Japan Main site · 日本語
- Korea Main site · 한국어
- Asia Pacific Main site
- United States Regional site
- China Regional site
- Europe Regional site
A major part of the project was establishing a Drupal architecture capable of supporting global operations. We configured the platform for multilingual content and multiple regional sites, allowing local markets to manage and present information according to their language and business requirements.
The implementation provided a structured approach for handling regional content, translations, shared information, and market-specific updates. This helped create a consistent global platform while allowing the website to accommodate the needs of individual regions.
- Main website in three regions: Japan, Korea and Asia Pacific.
- A multi-site setup for three regional sites: the United States, China and Europe.
Mautic integration
Drupal 10 to Mautic
- User data
We integrated Mautic marketing automation with Drupal to support the synchronization of user data and improve coordination between the website and marketing activities.
The integration was designed to support reliable data exchange between systems, including the processing and transfer of relevant user information. This created a stronger connection between the website’s user activity and the client’s marketing automation workflows.
Custom modules and data processing
Drupal 10
- Data processing
- Migration operations
- System communication
- Business workflows
Because the project involved complex data structures and integration requirements, we built custom Drupal modules to extend the platform’s functionality. These modules supported specialized data processing, migration operations, system communication, and business-specific workflows.
The custom development approach allowed the solution to address requirements that could not be handled effectively through standard Drupal configuration alone, while keeping the platform organized and maintainable for future enhancements.
Acquia Cloud deployment
Development to Operations
Acquia Cloud
- Application updates
- Configuration changes
- Migrations
- Maintenance
We deployed and maintained the Drupal 10 platform on Acquia Cloud, supporting the website across its development and operational environments. The deployment process included managing application updates, configuration changes, migrations, and ongoing maintenance activities.
Using a managed Drupal hosting platform provided a dependable environment for operating a multilingual, multi-region website and supporting continued development.
The result
A centralized Drupal 10 platform
The project delivered a centralized Drupal 10 platform for managing global content and product-related information across multiple regions. The client gained a scalable multilingual architecture, a reliable connection with its external data source, and an integrated marketing automation workflow through Mautic. The custom migration framework, integration modules, and Acquia Cloud deployment provided a strong technical foundation for ongoing international operations and future platform growth.
